  • "go to full impulse" --"i wouldn't" ---"you heard me Travis" then a few moments later...."increase speed Travis"

so whats the point of FULL impulse when you can always go faster...lol it would apear the writers did not go back and read their own work...lol

  • "Hold on? Sir, don't we have artificial gravity?"

  • @eventingcrazy totaly missing the point

  • @eventingcrazy yeah, I realise that now. And to be fair, its the smallest of things that don't make sense in the Trek universe

  • @kesselrunfun its because they have artificial gravity that they have to hold on. The inertial dampers will only do so much to reduce the effects of inertia inside the ship. They are not going to fall to the deck head but they may get thrown from side to side or feel the effects of the loop

  • @1crazyfocker full impulse is the level of output from the fusion reactors that provide impulse power, not an indication of relative speed. Its can be compared to torque in a shaft but that is not an indication of how fast the shaft is rotating so the script writers were correct

  • @dragonknightleader1 yeah maybe, over all i love the show, so i was not saying that the writers suck or anything, just say to me it looks like an over looked part of the script.

  • @fjccommish

Those three episodes were actually pretty good, as I recall.

  • @1crazyfocker

Maybe I'm just working too hard defending their writing, but it is conceivable that Tucker is overclocking the engines so that they perform at a higher rate of thrust, and that when he said that "they're good to go" he meant that the damage was not irreversible.

  • @trekkie117 its all true, there is always ways of doing it. but the main point is that i bet the writers were not thinking about that, they just over looked it.

  • @1crazyfocker it may be possible that they are overclocking their warp core

it would account for the busted plasma injectors

also, at least in Halo, ship captains have been known to push their engines up to 130% capacity

  • You get 'em, Archer.
