Two miles outside Merigold, Miss'ippi stands one of the last true Jook Joints. Thanks to Larry and Cindy for providing the video from the 2009 Trinity House benefit concert.
This is a video of the song Po' Monkey's. The song was written after I saw a photo of the place and read a bunch of stories about it and from people who have been there. I hope you like the song - it's as true as the stories I read.

Written after reading about the place and reading a bunch of people's stories that visited there.
I understand there's not much live music there any more.

It's a fun to place to go, but only when there is a live band. Mostly only when Bill Abel is playing. I don't understand this video.

If you ever go by there and shoot a video, send me a note. It's best days are probably in the past, but I'm glad he's keeping it going.

No, not the real Po' Monkey's. But we always play that place in spirit.
If you are not familiar with Po' Monkey's Juke Joint, do an internet searcy. It's quite a story and inspiration for me.
