Saluton! Welcome back to Easperanto, the easy Esperanto YouTube course. This video will briefly discuss the purpose of Chapter 2.

Chapter 2 is titled "Vortoj," which means "words." We will be learning basic, grammar school Esperanto words. Topics will include:
2-2: Numbers
2-3: Colors
2-4: Animals
2-5: Days of The Week
2-6: Months of The Year
2-7: Greetings and Manners
2-8: Common verbs

Nothing too difficult. But learning a basic vocabulary is essential to your understanding of the Esperanto language. As we progress through the course, chapters will alternate between grammar and vocabulary. In order to effectively use the grammatical concepts presented, it is necessary to have a solid vocabulary. In Chapter 2 you will become familiar with many words that will help you describe things in everyday life.

Just a reminder on memorization: it is better to associate words with pictures than English translations. In 2-3, try remembering "flava" with the actual color yellow, not the English word "yellow."

And remember, word learning is fun! Remembering words does not have to be tedious repetition. Try pointing out objects in your room and counting or making an Esperanto calendar! Thanks for listening, and please proceed to lesson 2-2!
