I got a number of calls from Alvin Management purportedly giving me special tips about stocks which are "about to move". The implications of this would not be good for a professional accountant whose signature is on the audit report of several stock quoted companies. So I cut him off, as I had done his colleagues earlier in the day.

Alvin Management were already guilty beforehand of pestering me and wastefully sending out printed material which I had asked them not to for environmental reasons when they spamcalled me some weeks back. Their whole sales pitch is an insult to the intelligence, is totally unwarranted, insolent in its use of the victim's first name, without so much as a by-your-leave, and that about 10 times a minute like some kind of NLP mantra they learned in their pressure selling for dummies evening class.

Get a grip, Alvin Management. No more dumb unsolicited sales calls to me, unless you like getting put in your place by someone cleverer than you on prime time youtubevision, in which case, fire away.

Other companies who use these techniques, please note - the people you are trying to sell to are not as dumb as you like to think they are, and resent the insult to their intelligence. We don't want this kind of thing going on in the 21st century - leave it in the end of the twentieth, where it belongs.

  • do you like being publicly defamed for the dumb shit YOU say like what I did?

I don't imagine that poor telemarketer feels any better about YOU making false accusations... except my accusations are REAL!

let me know which region you did this in and i'll pull the local penal code and explain which ones you likely violated, in my opinion and break it down for you. i might even make a video out of it for you... so you can feel the shame you tried to put on this poor, unwitting man.

  • @AssistingHealth If you admit that you are defaming me, then you are already skating on very slippery territory. You say you are going to be an MD, but I seriously hope you grow a brain before you get anywhere near any patients...

  • @usenetposts my main point here is to be a gentleman and politely decline and hang up the phone versus trying to belittle another for doing their job (times can be tough... that person may even be in the middle of getting another job, just hasn't been hired yet... you just don't know) and proclaiming illegal activity (likely a false allegation) which in iteself, may be illegal.

will you answer my question please, sir?

  • @AssistingHealth I'll tell you this, if every financial person conducted themselves like me there'd be no such thing as insider trading. And I was not polite to him because he was not polite to me. I am usually fairly cordial to telesales people if they don't come across like this heavy-duty guy. There is a way to do telesales and there is a way not to do it. And since this company seems to have gone the journey I'd say the market has shown them that wasn't the way to do it.

  • @usenetposts oh, and my claims are only defamatory if they are FALSE. so the important thing here is... did he break the law? if you are correct, i'm defaming you... if I am correct, you are defaming him.

let's reference the LAW, shall we?

like I wanted to do... from the beginning?

or do you not want to be ousted as mistaken?

  • @AssistingHealth I don't think you know the meaning of the word ousted, along with several other words you've used in this exchange. My suggestion is if you want to know whether I am mistaken or not, at least look at the definition of insider trading - even the one which appears on wikipedia. You'll see it hinges on handling unpublished info. I *asked* him if he was going to give me unpublished info over the phone about this company traded on NASDAQ and he couldn't deny it.

  • Okay so how long was this gonna go on? A professional accountant and a menstruating, pompous medical student with his head up his ass (because his shit smells sweet).

And to the first aid pidgeon....boy, youre the one whos giving our country a bad name. The brit handed you your ass with a tea and crumpet. So shut the hell up!!

  • "@TheAmericanOriginal how was i "put in my place"? "

I dont know, ask usenetposts =P you replied to the wrong guy, fella

  • @usenetposts you know nothing aboujt this man... maybe he is an alcoholic or was framed for a crime and just got out of prison and this is the only job he can get to survive or something like that... not likely, but you just never know.

you are making so many groundless assumptions, it's crazy.

and yes, my claims would be defamatory... per quod, probably... texas doesn't cover per quod.. does your region? do you think my extradition is likely if so?

  • @usenetposts opinions towards another is not an all-or-nothing game. i think your legal knowledge is naive, at best... yet your lingusitic/pedagogical skills and eBay recordings are excellent... I even recommended you to someone recently because of how entertaining you make the learning process (wonderful oratory and pedagogical skill... rather scarce in most institutions, if I might say).

your teaching is a hot commodity... not your brow-beating of a telemarketer.

  • @usenetposts i know that you don't derive economic benefit... what i am saying here is all you are doing is getting nowhere dodging my original question and hoping that i give up at some point... your perseverance is respected, yet, will run out eventually. i will continually ask that question until you answer it.

law just doesn't seem to be your forte... however, language and pedagogy seem to be... very respectable.

  • @usenetposts the degree in finances thing i may have been mistaken about... maybe you said that your JOB was in finances... then you said you speak 20 languages i believe... it was a vid of yours about lecturing... some individuals in russia, i believe? this was many months ago...
