Razaleigh, who still look robust at 71, talked to Malaysiakini on a wide range of issues in a 60-minute interview at his White House in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

In this part of the interview 'Ku Li' as he is popularly known, talks about the Mohd Ali Rustam case. Ali Rustam who was vying for the deputy presidency of Umno has been barred from contesting by the party's disciplinary board.

Mohd Ali was barred from contesting by the Umno disciplinary committee for allegedly being involved in money politics through his agent.

Certain quarters alleged that it was a conspiracy to exclude Mohd Ali, who was tipped to be in the lead, in order to ensure victory for the preferred candidate Muhyiddin Yassin.
