lol, i have had hogs run 5 feet in front of me on the river. I normally have a TC conteneder 44 mag with 15 inch barrel with me for the close range shots. 240 gr hp bullets really ruin their day. I sometimes have a ghillie jacket on, so they never see me.
Yeah, we have a Contender with a few different barrels, normally we use the .222 Rem barrel. We havent used it in a while, but we are going to use it this year for some good video footage. It sounds like you really go all out groundhog hunting, just like us.
Yeah all i need now is a good cam to tape some action. Thinking about getting a cannon with at least 24 zoom to get those long shots on tape. Me my dad and my 3 other brother's all have varmint rifle's. Trying to get them all together to go thin the groundhog population. Right now it's just me and jason doing all the shootin lol.
We have 2 Canon cameras that we use. One has 25x optical zoom and the other has 32x optical zoom. They're pretty good cameras, but there are definitely better ones out there, we just can't afford them. Invest in a really good tripod, or you could use a good sandbag to rest the camera on, like we do. The sandbag method tends to be easier, faster and able to adjust the positioning better.
did you get that last hog later?
