Whose Truth?
How Jews and Egyptians Battled Over the Passover Narrative 2,000 Years Ago" featuring the brilliant Rabbi Dovid Katz, an event which was simply terrific.
You practically filled the entire Lloyd Street Synagogue's first floor sanctuary (on a cold and rainy night) with more than 150 adults, and everyone was spellbound with Rabbi Katz's scholarly research and presentation of the Passover story... analyzed from both the Egyptian and Jewish viewpoints. Among many fascinating points I learned was that Moses' name appears many more times in the Koran than does Mohammed's name. Another interesting point was that although the official Egyptian 'position' on our Passover holds that the Jews were never slaves in Egypt, Egyptian attorneys have nevertheless assembled a lawsuit (perhaps
Quixotesque) demanding return by the Jewish people of nearly one trillion dollars... the present value they claim of the goods the Hebrew slaves (that didn't exist!) sole from Egypt when they escaped in the middle of the night!
