Kate appeared as a surprise guest on Peter Gabriel's concert during his 'So' tour. Amazing live performance. Her next (surprise) live appearance would be 15 years later on David Gilmour's concert at the Royal Festival Hall in 2002.

As far as I can tell, no one managed to capture this on video which is a shame. There are stories of a few tapers being busted by the security team. We're very lucky at least one managed to bootleg this.

Peter Gabriel's camp probably videotaped this concert, but that's pure speculation on my part...

Well, I had tickets for this event. I sold them to my GF's sister to go on another evening. I asked her if she enjoyed it: "Oh yes, it was great when Kate Bush came on"

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa­aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa­aat?!"

I've never really got over it!

Hi there, I remember seeing PG live in Basel (CH) and years later Mexico City (1994?) using those robotic lights singing Mercy Street. That was gorgeous. He was also playing with the laser lights reflecting them torwards the audience via a hand mirror.

I remember that well. Went the night before and again on this night. Believe it or not it wasn't a sellout, had no trouble getting tickets on the door both nights. While Kate's appearance was a huge bonus on the second night (she didn't appear on the previous night) the real highlight of the show for me was mercy street, where PG used robotic lights. Pity there's no video. Even now it should look amazing.
