    Unfortunately for UCLA it also happened to be Dick Vermeil's last game. He would leave Westwood for the Philadelphia Eagles. I still think that if he had stayed he might have won a couple of national titles and the balance of power would have shifted from the University of Spoiled Children and John Robinson would have probably left a few years earlier than he did.

    OSU was ranked #1 coming into this game; because of the Rose Bowl game UCLA spoiled OSU's national championship hopes, and boosted the Bruins to #5.

    Maan i wish ucla was ranked in the top 25 bcs standings, that would be awesome... But the coaching sucks and the recruiting needs improvement

    I was there in the Rose Bowl and it was amazing...103,000 people...largest crowd i had ever been in...ucla alum here class of 72!

    Ok...They played them in their home city..How long is that bus ride to the Rose Bowl? 30 minutes? Sleeping in their own beds...Alot different than traveling 2500 miles and sleeping in a convent
