Is this the same Harold Johnson who served as mayor of Moraine, OH., flew a Waco in the Snoopy and the Red Baron show at Kings Island, etc?

thats why a crash back in those days would kill everyone but the plane was still flyable haha.

@geherrick It might be done again at Oshkosh.

All Ford 4-AT models are approved for single pilot operations without a type rating (but you clearly have to have a mulit-engine rating). The slightly larger 5-AT models require a special type rating.

Long ago I knew a man named Troy Coback. Mr. Cobock told me he once had an air show and a pilot who stunted a trimotor ford.
Could this be the same airplane?

My guess is that this is the ship as I am not aware of anyone else performing this kind of act in a Ford tri-motor.

Thanks, we are presently rebuilding a Ford Tri-motor now and if all goes well we MAY do the routine again... but perhaps not too many times :)!

I don't have the specific date of this film, though it probably was at the 1938 National Air Races. He did perform his routine there.
