@darine39 It takes longer to melt, keeping the drink cold, and keeping it from getting watered down.

Don't talk about the Patterson House's attention to detail with all of the air bubbles that you leave in your ice. In Japan you would be a laughing stock. Japanese ice balls are perfectly clear.
