The US Government gave the banks a green light to give bad loans and then they walked away when it got out of control. The US Government threatened banks with discrimination charges if they did not give loans to minorities that were poor risk.

Wake up, FOX. Ever hear of rhetoric? He (Plotz) was simply doing what your network does all the time--embellish the general sentiment (punish the bastards) with colorful language. One person's "extreme language" is another's colorful metaphor. You (FOX) should be no stranger to this concept.
