  • Thanks to all who have posted comments. This video was taken the first day we bought it and my husband was practicing before we put it in the garage! We wanted to make sure he could get it in there and STOP! =)

Now he's a pro and we buckle our 2 year old in the back (last owner added that feature) in her carseat and take drives to the park and Starbucks! Both locations are bribes of course so my daughter and I will jump in and take it for a spin which he LOVES to do any chance he gets! =)

  • @KELSEYII-What a gorgeous T tudor you have! I see it is painted in the original CHANNEL GREEN color-very nice. NOW I HAVE A GREAT TIP FOR YOU FROM AN OLD VETERAN T DRIVER (me) If you drive it much at all, you will find you are having to take up the brake bands on the transmission often-and it`s kind of a pain in the ass. So, to get more life out of the brakes, when you go to stop, use your reverse pedal (middle) as well as your brake-alternate them. Takes practice, but brake linings last longer!

  • It took me 5 years to learn to shift my 2-speed Ruxtell on the fly, normally you had to stop first. My 1926 T roadster was restored and I drove it often. Sadly had to sell later. Absolutely the toughest, most reliable automobile ever made!

  • @justinaurelius I saw that video too. They over exaggerated the difficulty in driving a model t. In reality they are not difficult or complicated to drive.

    Thanks

  • can that thing handle highways?

  • The first car I drove was a '29 model A. I don't remembner it being that noisy

  • If I had to guess, I would have to say

90% + of all the "T"'s out on the road have endured a lesson or two like this one. They're tough, don't worry about it.

  • and i thought my mazda 323 was had to drive xD

  • Yeah that's what I thought!!

  • As my wife said, that was my first day EVER driving a Model T. The previous owner gave me a real brief rundown on how do drive it, but this was all brand new. Trying to operate the spark and throttle, which are on the steering column, keeping the left foot down on the clutch (the Model T only has two gears - low is all the way down and high is when the pedal is released), and the brake with the right foot. Not your normal car.

  • What you need to do next is an instructional video on how to operate the Model T. There was an eopside of Top Gear that went over it quickly and apparently its complicated.
