A creature has boarded the U.S.S. Timberland, a Federation ship just returning from a science mission. The beast is fast, intelligent and horrifyingly lethal. As it slaughters and feeds its way towards the bridge, the captain is powerless to do anything but listen to the terrified screams of his crew. Unsure of what fate awaits him, he records his final log in the hopes that the gallant men and women of the Enterprise can put a stop to the rapacious plans of the creature. Who or what is this thing that's tearing through his ship? Can help arrive in time to save the handful of his crew that survive?

"The Stalker" was created by Swords & Circuitry Studios in cooperation with House of Diggs Productions as a pitch tool for a new, proposed "Star Trek" series featuring a new villanous felinoid race, the Rakshasa. None of the film's creators are employed by CBS or Paramount Pictures, and Swords & Circuitry Studios and House of Diggs Productions are solely responsible for its content. "Star Trek" and all related copyrights and trademarks are the property of CBS / Paramount.

  • Larry Niven's felinoids are called Kzinti or Kzin (pronounced "kah-zin-tee" or "kah-zin"). They appeared in the animated series produced by D.C. Fontana. However, Larry no longer has sole ownwership of the Kzinti for film and television. Therefor, I've had to create a new species for this project. New culture, new history, new name ---- new everything. Fortunately, there are several sentient felinoid species already established in the Star Trek franchise. The Rakshasa are just one more.

  • What is he saying by the way: "Hang in there ..., this is Enterprise we're on the way".

  • The ship being attacked is the "U.S.S. Timberland." He's saying, "Hang in there Timberland. This is the Enterprise. We're on our way!"

    "The Pride Has Returned,"

  • I thought they were called Kizinti?

  • Not bad.

Some good shots of you narrating, and the brief glance at the Kzinti was cool.

I'm looking forward to more of "The Lions of the Night"

  • Keep in mind this WASN'T intended to be a "finished" product. It's a a pitch reel to help producers get the feel of what the "real" show would be like, providing we had a real cast, sets, a script, and CGI. Hopefully the decision makers will get the same "captivating" feel as you did. :)

This was shot as an on-the-spot idea in my office, with us shooting five different camera positions in under an hour. The only "script" was what Jimmy and I hashed out verbally about ten minutes beforehand.

  • You did it again. At first glance it's just you narrating, a few bad visuals. But it's captivating, man! It has an indiscribable effect on the viewer. Too be honest it doesn't need the video to be effective, only the audio. And that is a quality not found in most fan projects.

  • This another great clip Jimmy Keep this up I see an second movie before the new one starts! :)

  • Kzinti. YES!
