There are so many people here commenting with no real knowledge about cricket. Stop comparing two legends such as Saurav and Rahul. In tests, Rahul is statistically better, whereas in ODIs, Saurav is better. However, Saurav's main contribution is that he formed an Indian cricket team that could potentially win overseas. The current team's success has a lot to do with Saurav's contribution - listen to what Yuvraj, Sachin, Kumble etc. say about his contribution. It's all on youtube.

I remember that series against the ozzies very well - it was Steve Waugh's last test series.
India drawn that series by 1-1 (first time ever against AUS in AUS). The last match was so close but Steve and Gillespie finally managed to survive till the end and the match was drawn.
Dada was the one who started the whole thing by scoring this wonderful 144 at Gabba (Brisbane).
He is truely admirable.... hats off to the legend.
