The Virginia Chorale performs Clytus Gottwald's 16-voice arrangement (1983) of Gustav Mahler's "Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen" (1901) in Williamsburg Presbyterian Church on May 30, 2010. Steven White, former director of Opera Roanoke and current Met Opera conducter, leads the ensemble. Chorale director Scott Williamson writes that "the palette of colors in this arrangement speak to the vibrancy of the choral art and its self-renewing, ever-rejuvenating tradition."
