@galaxie63punk That would depend on the size. They ranged from 241 to 325 cubes. I had a stock 56 D-500 coronet with a 315 and it ran like crazy. Wish I still had the motor. It had adjustable rocker arms and solid lifters. Very hard to find that combo now. You can tell the ones with the adjustable rockers because they had 4 bumps on each valve cover where the exhaust rocker adjuster was. Offy still makes intakes for these. You can get new roller cams too. Hope this helps Bill.

@itsmacintosh For the Mopar (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Plymouth) small blocks and 1953-1958 Hemi bigblock engines the distributors were located in the back. But the 426 Hemi and all the other bigblocks from 1959+ were located in the front. Thats how you can tell if its a first generation Hemi engine.

Thats cool, was worried cuz I heard when it was warned up as it seemed to run a bit smoother. The idle also got a lil faster. I like that sound but also can't deny the sound of a slower idle so it is possible to hear the cam. Nice equpment, would be awsome in a 70 hemi Cuda. CHEERS!
The early hemi. I love red rams and firepowers.
