The law says you can't go around hittin people whenever you bloody want even if they piss you off. What could this lady possibly have dont to warrant that? Called him a cunt? Rattled the cage? Just get on with the match, ignore the old lady hurling insults or whatever she's doing. She provoked him, believe it or not, that doesn't stand up in court. All that will happen is that his pride his hurt whereas she might have landed awkard and really fucked something up. It's smart to restrain yourself.

My career in pro sport effectively ended when I attacked a ‘fan’ who was having a go at me, screaming “queer bastard faggot” & worse.

I ran over, grabbed his 12YO daughter standing beside him by her hair (he wasn’t expecting this move!), and smacked her face so hard her lip was split & bleeding!

The guy threatened to bring charges, but went quiet when his own behaviour was questioned. Of course I was suspended for a few months & never got back to 1st team level, but it still feels worth it!
