Crappy Quality Update! Yay!

Yes! By popular demand, I've made an update video to show you guys that I am not dead! Many many apologies about the super low quality, but, as I said in the video, I am still seeking a solution for recording video and audio properly on Windows 7.

All music from Touhou by Zun. Since, you know, minecraft music is sporadic and otherwise I'm sitting awkwardly in silence.

Are you still needing help with setting up recording? Judging by the pokemon vids after this one I believe you have figured out how to record decent on Windows 7. Also, do you have the exact names of the songs you used in this vid by Zun?

@ZzzLorelei My recording works but it's not ideal. I've still been testing out alternatives but nothing has really worked any better.

The songs in order are: 'Mystic Dream ~ Snow or cherry Petal', 'The Flower like the Fantasy', 'Oriental Dark flight', and the very beginning of 'The Mound where the Flowers Reflect'.

Hi Nova, it's so awesome to hear your voice, welcome back :) It was wonderful to see this on my YT page, and I really enjoyed watching this update. I can now understand why you’ve been away. Two jobs AND your college degree deserve more attention above all else.

Thank you for remembering little ol' me and stopping by my page after I'd been gone so long. :) And yes, I've been very busy! Hopefully Aria of Sorrow will get finished eveenntually. For now though, I'm definitely picking something more leisurely to play around with.

Wow, didn't expect that to appear in my subscription box! Great to see you back! still remember watching your kaizo and Castlevania vids, haha... Think you were one of the first LPers I subscribed to! :) As for recording on Win7, fraps and playclaw are popular. Some people use camtasia or hypercam (which is free) as well. You can also try virtualdub + SCFH, which is what I tend to use, but that can be quite resource intensive depending on the codec you use!

I haven't heard of some of those last ones. I've tried out hypercam but I cannot seem to get the audio working correctly for it. I'll look into the others now, thanks!

@OhLookNoNumbers I would say its been pretty rare to see a female L/Ping. And its easier listening to a calm woman talk about games than some obnoxious dude.

@RavingNova In win7 you can check what device the audio is trying to record by right clicking the volume control in the taskbar, go to "Recording Devices", then look at the list of devices. You'll want it on something like "What U Hear" or "Wav Source" or something similar (the exact name depends on your sound card) - select it and press the "Set Default" button to change to that device. That might sort out your audio problems if it's currently set to your record your mic socket or something
