I also feel, despite this gender fiasco & other general gamer wars in the community (it'll never end), we can't forget about the new gamers & how we continue gaming history.

We're all getting older & new technologies breed. Everybody had to start fresh from whichever gaming generation they hailed from.

Issues like this constantly being tossed around, also make it unwelcoming for new gamers who genuinely want to be discovering more about gaming as a hobby / history.
