I have taught mrbit well but I felt as though I needed to make a video response to his latest video. Mrbit has learned to adopt my phone as modem paradigm in his latest video but I just don't think tethering a mobile device to another mobile device makes much sense if you have a laptop or desktop system. If you are going to tether your phone as modem then 4G is a must have. I show my LTE 4G Thunderbolt benchmarks in this video. Below is the link to mrbit's video.

  • Thanks for the response. My ecosystem statement is based on a company going against the carriers. RIM basically rammed it down the carriers throat by changing the relationship between the devices. Now, i did years ago tether with Windows Mobile & I am aware of some of the software that tethers on Android & others but a lot of the software uses 3rd party servers to change the data, if the carriers shutdown those IPs, bam. Some software does change the local data though.

  • @mrbit10

I think the Bridge is a nice feature to have. There are a lot of options out there for tethering. As far as 3rd party servers changing the data, Sprint, Verizon and even AT&T's data networks have all gone down at times. The end of December the Verizon network in my area was having major problems. In fact nation wide Verizon had problems last month. Everything is back to normal now in my area. I agree with your paradigm for the most part I just wanted to add some extra info.

  • I Bluetooth tether my phone to my tablet, but only so I can receive calls on my tablet. Neat features.

  • @tylerwylie

I agree. There is an ecosystem with mobile devices already. That is why I made my video response. What you use and how you use it is up to you. I love the speed of Verizon's 4G network. I could not go back to 3G.

  • I'm convinced that this video was just an advertisement for Burger King, now I'm hungry.

  • @DigitalGamma

I wasn't hungry when I made my video but after reading your text response now I am : )

  • @adobePC Yup, and I'm doing this cross platform as well... Android phone on Verizon to my HP TouchPad running WebOS. I know a lot of people who jailbreak or root devices as well to gain access to a large community that offers insane amounts of interoperability.
