How to let go of thoughts that get stuck in your head (kind of the same way a song can) and refocus your attention. The second half of the class covers accepting uncertainty. Be sure to visit http://wiredtoworry.com to receive notices of upcoming classes and more info.

What I like to do instead of refocusing is change my relationship with those thoughts.so if I have a song stuck in my head, I just accept it as it is & let it play without getting anxious about it until its nothing but background noise & i'm not even conscious abt it.took me a while but I got the hang of it.I've noticed that the more we react to certain thoughts the more they tend to stick and make life miserable. So if we just become aware & accept them, good or bad, those thoughts wont bother us.

Thanks for posting these videos. I really agree with the awareness, and not masking the way you feel part. I've had situations in the past that I felt powerless against that now don't bother me at all. I'm willing to believe time it.can get better.

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I happened to be able to listen to Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz give a talk last night (author of You Are Not Your Brain) who mentioned research that suppressing emotions (as opposed to mindful awareness of them) increases stress. You might want to have a look at his book if you wanted to explore some of what I discuss in this video more deeply. It's full of great information and inspiration to keep practicing these strategies.
