havent had a problem since i got my dv7. Its works great and i recomend u buying it for the money and power. No overheating issus hp seems have fixed it. Maxing out ect leauge of legends 60 fps constantly, swtor all settings maxed exepct shadows constantly 60 fps to Very nice comp.

take a can of air and blow it in the vent and see all the dust come out and see if the fan stops making that nosie

Had a DV6 for one day and returned it. I have an Envy 14 and now I'm happy ;-)
