I remember watching this when it aired. I was 16, and when their names were called, I was ecstatic in the way teenagers get ecstatic. My mom poked her head in my room, wondering why in the world I was shrieking my head off. I thought they were the greatest TV couple ever. Time hasn't changed that.

Actually, she does give props to David when she won that first SAG award (doesn't she say, "David, I love you"?). It's this GG win that hurts a little since not only did she attend this show with him as her 'date', but he ends up on stage right after her and thanks her before she's even able to return to her seat! I still think you can see it in her face when they cut to her watching him in the wings. She realizes her gaffe. I honestly don't think she ever snubbed him on purpose.
