Škola je osnovana odlukom narodnog odbora Sreza Pirot 26. maja 1956. godine pod imenom Srednja ekonomska škola .U periodu reforme obrazovnog sistema u Srbiji, od 1977. do 1990.godine škola je nosila naziv Radna organizacija usmerenog obrazovawa Boris Kidrič, a 24.09.1990. godine škola je registrovana pod nazivom Ekonomska škola Pirot. Od 10. septembra 1956.godine kada su u dve učionice smeštene u prizemlju zgrade Učiteljske škole u Pirotu počela sa radom dva odeljenja prvog razreda (70 učenika) Srednje ekonomske škole, pa do danas, skoro pedeset godina kasnije, škola je rasla doživljavajući niz transformacija, opravdavajući ciljeve osnivača i stalno i nanovo dokazujući razloge postojanja: "razvijanje napredne ekonomske misli u ovom kraju", obrazovanje i vaspitavanje učenika u skladu sa njihovim potrebama, potrebama profesora i tržišta. Danas škola postavlja osnove za doživotno obrazovanje - samoučenje i samoobrazovanje. Strategija razvoja škole podrazumeva uvođewe novih, savremenih obrazovnih profila koji prate zahteve tržišne ekonomije, formiranje trening centara za realizaciju praktičnog rada učenika i stručno usavršavanje odraslih. Neophodno je permanentno obnavljanje postojećih i nabavka novih nastavnih sredstava (savremene multimedijalne učionice i kabineti), stručno usavršavanje nastavnika za aktivno i kreativno učešće u razvoju škole, ali i sopstvenom profesionalnom razvoju podizanjem opšteg nivoa pedagoških sposobnosti i veština, motivisanjem učenika savremenim metodama i prostorom i strogo definisanim ishodima ocenjivanja.
The Secondary Economic school
The school was established by the decision of Peoples council of the County of Pirot on 26th May 1956 under the name The Secondary Economic school. During the period of the reforms of educational system in Serbia from 1977 to 1990 the school name was Labor organization for specialized training Boris Kidric, and on 09.24.1990 the school was registered as The Economic School Pirot.
Since 10th September 1956 when the two classrooms situated on the ground floor of the building of Teaching school in Pirot started working with two classes of the first grade (70 pupils) until now almost fifty years later, The Secondary Economic School has grown up experiencing a range of transformations, justifying the objectives of the founders and constantly proving again the reasons of its existence the developing of prosperous economic thought in this area, education of students according to their needs, teachers needs and market. Today the school establishes the foundations for a lifelong education, self-learning and self-education.
The strategy of the development of the school means introducing of the new up-to-date educational profiles following the demands of market economy, foundation of the training centers for the realization of practical training of the students and vocational training of the adults. It is necessary to renew the existing and purchase the new teaching aids constantly (contemporary multimedia classrooms and studies), professional training of the teachers and active and creative learning in the development of the school as well as their own professional development by enhancing the general level of pedagogic abilities and skills, motivating students by contemporary methods and rooms defined strictly by the results of the expectations.
