I've lived in the US my entire life, and up until now, I had no idea why my family (me included) says "slippy" instead of "slippery." My mother's side lived on PEI for generations before coming to the US, so I guess we must've kept some of the accent/slang.

after moving to the island about 6 months ago, I have heard things that they don't even realize they don't say right....aka the word "tomorrow" does not have an "a" in it "tamarrow"

@theBCdream True
-
@tjmfishing - Sorry to get all political, I just had to say it.
-
@tjmfishing - I blame the government for taking away things islanders love... like K-rock. Just wait, when they can find an excuse, they will take more good things away as well. It's happening in America and Stephen Harper is all for cutting out the good stuff.
-
@theBCdream what did the government have to do with that?
-
@tjmfishing - Anything the government can do to suppress their people:) PEI is becoming fascist!!

@777godisgreat That's very true! It's only really when you get into colloquialisms and some of the more extreme rural manners of speech do you really find the noticeable differences.
