  • Thanks for posting. Always enjoyed this song... I believe this live album was recorded in New York City at Carnegie Hall in 1972. Do you have any other live Lee Michaels tapes (audience tapes that is, since he only put out this one official live album)? I also wonder if any other live video footage of his shows exist aside from that Music Scene show that's already on You Tube. Any one know? Any one have live audio to trade?

  • This is the only live recorded concert available that I know of. Lee's material is tough to find.

  • @337mckenna 5 records? He had 10 albums! He is 65 now and planning to play soon.

  • @maida1982a Lee and his kids have opened a new Killer Shrimp, he has lived in Venice Beach for years, and he is planning to play out somewhere soon, but he's looking for an agent right now. There is NOTHING wrong with his hearing.

  • lee always played live it semed

  • Lee is on his way back ! With a Sonic Wall of Mesa Boogieman Sound ! Hope you make it to Seattle, in the meantime I sit here and listen to youtube. Lee you da Man!!

  • I'm down for a Lee Michaels comeback ! He was and is by far the most soulful blues singer of the times in my opinion .I saw him in Sacto and it was a shame cuz he rocked . I'd pay $200/seat to see him and Frosty reunite. Hell I paid that much to see Clapton at Arco back in 2001. Has anybody approached him about doin a comeback /revival tour? How about Lee Michaels, Sons of Chaplin, and Little Feat (with Lowell George) reunion tour. Well Lowell is gone so that's not gonna happen . . . .

  • @albundyphd Makes me feel bad. I had all of his albums. I attended this Carnegie Hall show. The "Lee Michaels" album is close to live (without an audience). It was recorded in one day. It remains the best Lee Michaels album in my opinion. Great stuff. Frosty was the bomb. Keith Knudsen was good though on this cut.

  • he was in the restaurant business for awhile, had several restaurants in CA called "Killer Shrimp", but think they are all closed now. i know his hearing suffered greatly. he and frosty made some unforgettable music. heard he was living in Hawaii-

  • Awesome music! I'm lucky enough to have all five records he made. Soulful kickass shit! Two musicians at their best on the self titled album. It amazes me that he chose to disapear from the scene. I'm guessing Lee is about 65 now. There is still time for a comeback!
