All Dachshunds are like that. Our male is that way, he barks at everything and everyone, until he gets to know them. Then he's sweet as sugar to them.

@Ivyandstone My male mini is like that. I have to keep a spray bottle of water near the back door in case someone comes over! It's embarressing and a little scary. He nipped at one of my daughter's friends. The spray in the face/rear-end works wonders. "Evil little kings" you got that right. Sweeeeeet little love-bug/snuggle-bunny to family members, though. :))

You are quite correct! This video was taken right after he was rescued from his elderly owener who 1)Did not walk him and 2) Only fed him junk and no doog food when she passed away. Check him out in a more recent video (Sammy Wubba Wubba Doo - staring his also rescued brother)and you'll how much slimer he is looking. He has gone from a life threatening 32 pounds to a much more svelt 19! He is still getting many walks and eating his diet food so he's still slimming down,we'll post more vids soon!
