  • Construction Continues, bomb threats or not! Bomb threats = Extremist out of options. In no way am I relating Arkansas Audubon society to such acts; we simply disagree. I speak for many who can't afford to argue political views from lofty seats. 1,400+ new jobs, 1,100 permenant. Ask locals what they think about having full hotels, small businesses overwhelmed with new business and so on. Deaths and health effects are qualitative. Affordable Energy is the issue, poverty for your neighbors?

  • The new LED light bulbs for 120 V use could help with some of this.

  • First of all I think you are wasting your money if you want to stop the building of coal plant use the money you pay the lawyers they could care less they just want the money, spend it on colleges research and development. FYI solar is only 20 % effective and we would have to clear a lot of land, spray it with chemicals that would kill all plants, this area is a huge timber region .Wind farms oh i know we can clear cut thousand of acres just to put up turbines and pray we get enough wind.

  • We are all going to die somehow....And Arkansas needs the money and jobs.

  • Nice.

  • Great Job!

  • Also, your insinuation that these plants "remove the mercury" is totally incorrect. The company that owns this plant, in fact, is fighting to allow it to emit mercury at levels not much better than any other plant.

This is what the ADEQ has to decide - what limits to impose on the plant regarding its mercury emissions.

If you want more info regarding this, feel free to message me.

  • These new plants do not "replace" old ones.

They are in addition to the old ones.

And why would you advocate for a replacement that isn't as clean or economically sound as the alternatives?

The energy that this plant would provide can be met at a much smaller cost through energy efficiency measures.

  • GO NUCLEAR!!!
