@ThisIsACleverName i feel exactly the same way! i've seen him live seven times, listened to albums, bootlegs, but there's just something about the way his ideas flow and flow and keeping getting better... and how he makes this old bop tune sound new... it's incredible. this is definitely one of his best recorded solos.

I can't explain it. I virtually have every Rosenwinkel recording there is (including lots of bootlegs), but somehow this low quality clip is my favourite kurt solo! It's so organized and logical that it almost sounds written, but at the same time it swings so hard in a way that only pure improvised solos can do.
