Haley Barbour was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He earned a law degree from the University of Mississippi Law School in 1973. He advised President Ronald Reagan as Director of the White House Office of Political Affairs, and served two terms as Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Prior to his election as governor, he headed Barbour Griffith and Rogers, one of the nation's top lobbying firms. In November 2003, Barbour was elected Mississippi’s governor in the largest voter turnout in a gubernatorial election in state history.

To be fair, saying anyone has done an exceptional job as Governor of Mississippi is a rather dubious distinction, considering Mississippi is one of the poorest and least literate states in the United States.

Haley's plan: 1) Take credit for something you had no direct involvement in, namely the work of PEOPLE, not the futile flailing of you and your useless leaders (Bush and 'heckuva job' Brownie).

2) Lie about it enough times to convince others (especially gullible Rush-bots) and then run for President.

A repititious Republican strategy that suckers them in and always has them asking for more.
