While I respect the work this lady put into her career, there's an imbalance when an overwhelming vocal talent like, say, Rita Moss fades into the shadows while... well, those MGM marketing dollars certainly didn't hurt, right Ms. Babbo?
this was my grandma and grandpa's favorite song, my grandpa just past 3 days ago, it was on my birthday and his 70th aniversery he was 92 and a great man and will always be missed.
What memories !! Used to dance to her music in 1952-1954 while at Westchester
High School in California; think it was called the town house; every Wednesday evening close to the high school. Think I was in love with her; my fantasy at age 16-17. What great memories; even walked home after dancing. So young, yet the hormones were working I guess. she was fantastic and I hope she is doing very well at her age. So many of us really loved her music. Thanks for listening.
One of the few singers to sing the song as written, with the super leap to the high note on "stars." Almost all singers transpose the note down low. 'Twas child's play for her.
I've always loved this classic from the Big Band era. As always, the lovely & talented Joni James does her own special magic with it! What a delight to listen to today for the first time. THANK YOU so very much for sharing this wonderful"blast from the past" for us to enjoy! And thanks also to John (Fegen) for giving me the "heads up" about it! :)
Thanks for including the release year, Tom. Im creating a Joni James playlist from all the youtube uploads and also put this on my 1956 playlist.
I've put nearly 4000 uploads onto 300 playlists by artist and year - the 1950-1976 years play for over an hour each. I'm your door to beautiful music from the past . . .

This song was originally recorded for the
album "In The Still Of The Night Joni James"
and the album has been since remastered onto
a cd. This is an old beautiful song that
is hardly ever heard and Joni gives her
own unique interpretation.
