Im trading my 08 mustang GT in for the 09' Challenger SRT8.. I cant wait.. I like the mopar chrome shifter you have on the car, looks cool... Dodges auto shifter looks too gd cheap... Dodge should also offer like a wood accent package that would make the interior look more 1970 vintage, thatd be cool, like it would be optional...

Oh man, I am SURE you will have power options, right from Mopar, within a few months. I heard about a blower kit with a T/A hood (one huge scoop, but still street legal)called the drag pack and as I said, the track pack will be with the Viper 6 speed, 5 more HP, Full traction control off switch and rear dif. WOOT!

I did have an SRT8 on order, placed December 8 2007. But by late August I was pissed that my order was still unstarted and unscheduled. Then I saw the exact same car I was waiting for, except in an R/T, at another dealership on the showroom floor and bought it on the spot. No regrets, just want the power back that I compromised on. The 5.7L actually has plenty of power, I just want more! Is there such a thing as enough power?

You don't need a chip. Prob mess up your millage something serious too. If you need that much more power then trade yours in and get the 6.1. I personally think the 375 HP Hemi is plenty of power, plus you get decent millage! That's not easy to achieve. Can you imagine how pissed you will be if your warranty is void and you have to pay for something stupid like an O2 sensor or a busted factory part? Ouch! I am waiting for the stick, much better control of the power. Nice ride twofinger4!
I'm seriously considering a Black R/t for next spring - and was looking at that chrome Mopar shifter to go with it - was wondering how bitchin' hot it would get in direct sunlight.
-And I prefer the 18'' rims over the upgraded 'chrome clad' 20'' rims - first, classic muscle cars never had narrow profile tires - and the chrome-clad part of the rim ( not the whole rim is chrome, like a 'crager SS' - just the part facing out ) felt cheap and would be instantly marred if you touch a curb.

You won't be disappointed. I get asked about my car everywhere I go!

Sorry, looks like a Challenger SE to me -- wrong rims for an R/T. I know, I just bought an R/T! But still enjoy your ride!

The R/T on the front grill is pretty telling, no?
The SE comes standard with 17" machined-face aluminum wheels and the R/T with 18" cast aluminum. For another $720 you can upgrade to 20" chrome-clad-cast aluminum.
I'd prefer to get some custom wheels down the road.
