The late Shack Lerry, a superstar of the Agidigbo genre. Born, bred and based in Isale-Eko all his life, he was recognised as a modern day superstar of this genre and died recently, leaving two recordings, which are a collectors item for conoisseurs of Agidigbi music.
The tragedy is that I did not realise how important this man was when I introduced him on stage at the mini-concert I organised, where this video was filmed. Not until I came to the UK and many years later saw his post0humous cd's advertised on the net. I am not aware that there are any videos of him out there and this is my way of paying tribute and making amends for my earlier ignorance.
This brings tears to my eyes. Loved attending his jumps every friday night @ Playboy as it was called. Was authentic Nigerian down to earth night life & I loved it. Met all sorts of people there - self confessed robbers, bank managers, pastors, undergrads, even top government functionaries (like Patrick Koshoni once number 3 man in Nigeria) came regularly. What more can I say. It was fantastic. When I am 97 & there are no more teeth & nothing else to do I will still recollect Shakileri.

@pimpddragon Does Paul and Paul still exist. I remember does days. My friends and I use to eat at Paul and Paul after school. Though I couldn't rock Lerry's jump cuz I was young but I know about it and I rock at his show on special occasions like fanty carnival days which he usually commences in day time on like the jump that starts at night. Them days are epic. I miss them so much.
