  • You seem to be using the Alexandre Lagoya RH technique?

  • I'm embarrassed to say... I don't know what that is! Would you mind explaining? haha

  • Wow, great playing! I'm absolutely impressed! I hope you're planning on becoming a concert artist, because you've got it!

  • Wow.. I've never had a comment like that! It means a lot that you've said that, thank you!

I'm currently a 2nd semester student at Berklee College of Music, double majoring in Film Scoring and Music Education... but I will always play guitar regardless :)

  • Very well played. I like 25 Coste's studies op.38. I hope you try to play No.23. Please refer to my performance of No.23 in my YT site. This study is one of my favorite pieces among Op.38.

  • thank you for your kind words!

  • @bastherrien You should lay-off the crack for a while.

  • Nicely played. I studied these years ago with the late Juan Mercadal...brings back fond memories. Keep up the good work!

  • @desmondwood I have a copy where this is No. 17 too, but in the preface it says: "The sequence of the studies has been altered in order to make it more progressive. There is no revision report. Instead, the player is advised to consult the facsimile of the first edition."

I don't quite understand this; are we expected to hunt down another version of Op. 38 just to find out what the correct references would be?

  • Very nice recital! This is actually Etude # 6 (Study in A Major)

  • Sweet! I have been playing classical for a while and the 25 etudes are among my favorites to work on; you play this piece very well indeed.

  • Pretty good rendition there. Needs a little more practice, but it's almost there. Are you going to learn more Coste etudes? You seem to have a lot of versatiility!

By the way, I like the pajamas-I thought you looked pretty good in that "running suit", lol. And isn't this Coste's etude number 6? That's what it seems to be in my Coste Etudes edition. Keep up the good work.

  • Really GREAT!

  • @steffanii

Alexandre Lagoya played from the right side of his fingers; and he taught this technique in France, in Québec and other places as well.
