and try to face the brightest light when you film, lowest shadow.

You do suck! You suck suck suck sucketh at angles! Just kidding. It's better not to put the camera below the face. Reduces shadows, ya. Put it at eyes or slightly above the bridge of your nose. I'd prefer the latter.
