I honestly wasn't trying to make you feel bad on the previous part, In fact I was trying to be as kind as I can. I was just trying to point out you're mistake. Speaking of mistake, to get the mushroom in level 3, it is easier to use the koopa to your advantage and break the blocks with it's shell then jump down breifly to get it.
