They seriously should have let the director of District 9 to just do it. He did such a good job with the shorts for Halo 3, and he basically proved to Universal and Fox that you can make a damn good movie with a small budget already. And make a lot of money out of it.

@NaviShergrillz by this point in the Halo timeline, humanity had settlements all over space - including Mars. I'd be rather surprised if there weren't some "martians" in the marines.

Come to think of it, that was probably a manequin standing there at the end. No wonder he didn't move! Either it was the weekend and everyone went home except for the camera man, or the UNSC is making extensive use of decoys!
