Crysis game play on the Sager NP5165 on high settings (720p)

Sager NP5165 Specs

-Intel i7-2720QM Processor (2.2ghz)
-Nvidia GT555m Graphics card
-6gb of Ram

Crysis is one demanding game. At 720p on high settings it runs between 20 - 30 fps with Fraps. In the end it still runs relatively smooth on all high settings without Fraps recording, just keep an eye on your temperatures as they can get pretty high while running this game.

  • Heading to Oregon State in a month, after weeks of researching laptops, this looks like the one :)

  • @Tenac1ous Glad to hear it dude

  • @Tenac1ous Hey, I'm getting this same laptop with the i5-2410M processor and the same graphics card. Should I save $35 and get the 4GB RAM version, or do the extra 2GB of RAM make a difference? Most games I want to play only require 2-4 GB, so is all 6GB worth it?

  • @Drumtariano dude, if you wana play games you will want to get the 6gb of ram. trust me

  • How's batter life (without gaming?) I plan on getting this same laptop with same specs for school. Only gaming I would do is back in my room where i have it plugged in.

  • @kevaughanshiu Im doing the same thing. It seems that if u have it on the best settings for battery life u can get up to 4 hours. usually its around 3 and a half hours though

  • when crysis came out it was almost impossible to play on most pcs. right now its easy even on notebooks lool

  • @itsadurg sounds just nuff to go through my longest classes (3 hours) :P thanks

  • @KingOnigami Well as far as this laptop is concerned, the Graphics card is the bottle neck so the i5 will do just fine, i got the i7 for non gaming related reasons. So yes the i5 will do just fine

  • I have a question regarding this laptop. I'm considering purchasing it in the following few months for school and I intend to some gaming on it. Given the performance of this game, I think it should hold well on something like Starcraft II and Diablo III. What Intel processor would you recommend? I noticed you use the i7 but you said the i5 should do just fine to. The 2.5 GHZ seems to be well adjusted, do you think it would hold its own like the i7?
