This video is a follow on from my other barbering best practice 'blending' in video. It is essentially instruction on practicing techniques for a learner. By using a practice head or willing client - the learner can safely gain experience blending in from a .5 or zero blade setting. Once achieved the learner should have confidence to move up to 'high & tight.' By putting in words such as men's haircuts or fades haircuts in the YouTube search box, numerous videos should be available to see 'blending in' being demonstrated.

  • Thank you very much, your support is greatly appreciated - Kenyon

  • Hi piepiemushroom, I welcome constructive comments on my training videos, its an excellent way to improve standards. Please inform me why you feel this basic blending in video is awful? It is a training video for new barbers and it concentrates on technique rather than results. Practice heads will never be as good as humans but they do take away nervous fear! I dont have a problem with your opinion - but please do not use swear words - they are not necessary - and they show a lack of respect? KY

  • Hi daddycubjudah, I use practice heads to teach virtually all the skills of barbering through how to cut, blow dry and dress long, medium , short and very short male hairstyles. As the learner progresses each basic skill is adjusted to the length of the hair. The learner then has the skills to go straight into cutting clients hair? Unlike some long ladies heads they do not have slip on hair. Try getting hold of some old ladies practice heads at your local college? Hope this helps? Kenyon

  • Hi IH8Monkeys? - thank you for the translation - I think I can take the rockin comments as a compliment? I totally agree with you that there is a real danger that when males grow their hair a little longer - which one day they surely will - clipper skilled barbers will have to learn the very critical skills of scissors-over-comb. Good luck with your barbering career. Kenyon

  • @deepdalebarber Sorry forgot to mention where I got my tunic from - cordcourt.co.uk. Kenyon

  • Hi Stuart thank you for your kind comments. It isn't easy transferring from ladies to mens! Get it wrong with a short haircut and you have nothing left to correct! May I suggest you seek advice and instruction from an expereinced barber some distance away from where you work? Go in and have your haircut - explain your problem - he / she may be happy to advise? If you are unsure - dont proceed with the cut. Generally, the zero type haircuts only go to barbers. Hope this helps - good luck. Kenyon

  • your work is great my friend keep it up well done

  • fuckin awful

  • My question about the practice heads is: Do they have ones where you can get different styles of hair to attach to try out different techniques. I cant imagine buying a whole new practice head each time. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
