This is a combo of video I've taken over the last week with an update from today, 1 week after surgery. Warning!!! Picture of my wound 1 week after surgery may be too graphic for some viewers.

  • The US care system is a bit of a mess also. I waited for a very long time to get the MRI because my doc didn't think insurance would approve. I would still be waiting for the surgery if I my foot hadn't started to drag which upped my status to more emergent. Otherwise, I was on the back burner in a ton of pain waiting for a time that was convenient for someone to see me while I was falling apart. That was pretty frustrating.

  • thanks for posting this video. i found it very helpful.

  • I don't think she is bitching, I think think this lady is very greatful that she has been given back her life...but if you have never experienced an injury similar to this it may be difficult for you to fully understand the physical and mental trauma suffered...

she is sharing her feelings...she knows that she will never be 100% again and she accepts that but acceptance doesn't mean that you won't miss the past.

  • why are you bitching about not being able to ski??? Your Doctor just magically healed you through the magic of technology and medicine....how selfish are you???? What did people with herniated discs do in the old days before surgery??? Good grief, have some perspective you loser

  • Hi ,i have the same surgery 2 weeks ago but i still have pain and taking pills ever 4 hours.Cant stand or walk for more the 15-20min.Not to happy...

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been in been for the last 5 week as my disc is pressing into my sciatica in L5-S1.

I've been in physio, acupuncture for the last month. Now I've started laser therapy and swiming.

Still haven't been able to see a specialist, this could take from 3 to 6 more months. This is why the Canadian health system sucks.

So started to look another options as I'm not planning to be in bed for that long.

Please keep us posted with your results..
