My 10 gallon planted, open top tank. Using no CO2 or fertilizers. Substrate is Eco complete. I believe the light hood holds two 18-watt bulbs. One 10,000k/actinic and one 6000k bulb to get as close to a full light spectrum as possible. I know it's a bit crowded with so many fish, but it's a little hard keeping all those baby guppies in check lol...

The tank is somewhat neglected. It's been up and running on it's own for a bit over a year. Only things done to it is feeding and water top-offs.

Fish:
1 adult male guppy
1 adult female guppy
Too many baby guppies to count
4 corydora hastatus
3 kuhli loach
2 Siamese algae eaters (soon to be relocated)
8+ adult cherry shrimp
Tons of Malaysian trumpet snails
2 Otocinclus
1 awesome pleco (not sure what type)

Plants:
1 mother Dwarf tiger lily
1 newly sprouted dwarf tiger lily
Tons of java fern (all from one mother plant)
1 Marimo ball
3 anubias nana petite
1 anubias nana
1 anubias lanceolata (I think)
some Cryptocoryne Wendtii
1 Piece of driftwood

Enjoy :)

  • Who makes that light you have ?

  • @CoreysFishTanks I bought it at Beverly's Pet Center in Pembroke Pines, FL. The housing seems identical to the Coralife models (it even fits their legs) but cut to custom sizes that no one else seems to put out. There's no branding on it either.

  • how do you get the guppys to breed or does tht jus happen?

  • @elloimastud1 It just happens lol... They're probably the easiest fish to breed. Just stick both sexes in a tank together and you're guaranteed babies in a few weeks.

  • Do the kuhlis like the substrate?

  • @AuraSoulful Yup! They spend their time digging around in it for food when they're not hiding under the wood lol.
