We need to find the happy medium between "ream everyone in the name of the lowest bid" and "protect even the few bona fide bad apples." Setting up a solid set of intelligent rights AND responsibilities is a good first step. I have real hopes for this new attitude towards unionization. Goodness knows, if you treat people like dirt, they will take advantage where they can, but when people take advantage, they give an excuse to employers to treat them like dirt.

He probably saw how bad the malingering really was; The excessive breaks and long lunches, the overdeveloped sense of entitlement, the abuse of workers comp. and FMLA benefits.

Talk's cheap. I heard promises before from the Boss and I'm sure this one on TV's the same. Without a Union contract to make them keep their word, Boss's have a very short memory.
