@matthewRwetter well i really didn't know that i was apologizing for anything, if i was i am sorry because i didn't mean to do so. so far Israel is in trouble big time, and only God can help them so they better believe lots. OH, i told the other bloger about the dead sea scrolls and he just laughed at me and told me that they were not real. see what i mean about talking to people
@rosemarie443 why are u apologizing? its a great thing that Israel has become a nation. I just explained that it was foretold in the bible. Maybe I misunderstand what you're saying?
This is an example of the bible being trustworthy. And people who are not Israelites can get reassurance from this event. This writing has been a part of the bible way before the event came true so it has a case for being divine knowledge.
@matthewRwetter sorry, but the children of Israel are all joined back together. what ever you think that their land is. and if this part of the bible is true, them why should anybody that is not a child of Israel believe in the bible?
@rosemarie443 A prophetic example would be the rejoining of Israel. It is written "Thus says the Lord God:Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own Land." Ezekiel 37:21
There are many other verses related to this prophesy which became fulfilled in 1948.
@rosemarie443 also another recent historical find (1947-1956): the dead sea scrolls which contains manuscripts of the old testament writings that date as early as 150 BCE. Attesting that the writings are works of antiquity predating the birth of Jesus, whom would later fulfill every prophesy written about the coming messiah.
@rosemarie443 I'll do my best to list some. I've heard a lot of stuff, but haven't committed it to memory. There have been some recent finds (1900s) that support historical elements of the bible. For example in 1993 a team of archaeologists found a stone fragment with the writing "house of David" as well as others mentioning king david's name.
Of course this evidence doesn't prove that the bible is the word of God, but it attests to its historical accuracy which is important.
@matthewRwetter OK tell me what you have seen as evidence. and it has to be in this modern day in age. yes and all of those things were written by man
@rosemarie443 His follower's lives radically changed in defense of the Christian faith. Someone like Paul (originally Saul of Tarsus) actually oppressed Christians until he had seen the risen Lord
It's 2 difficult to discount the radical changes of these people 4 any reason other than they believed 100% that this was true. Nobody suffers & dies 4 something they made up unless they are crazy. It's very clear that these men werent crazy & defended Christ even to the point of death
@rosemarie443 I have seen overwhelming evidence for the credibility of the bible. I believe that the bible is trustworthy based on its historical accuracy, its prophetic accuracy, its origins and response of the original followers
It is clear that Jesus Christ existed, His miracles were recorded not only in the bible, but also recorded by those who opposed Him.
@rosemarie443 Rose, I'm not sure why you're getting upset. Didn't have a chance this weekend to write back to you.
I think I'm doing anything but dodging your question and I'm certainly not trying to baffle you. I've tried a couple times to explain my first point only for you to disregard what I'm saying.
