In fact even Lotus Symphony 3 doesn't include a database application and is still based on old OOo code.

@guyver2095 The front end is new written in Eclipse, the back end is based on an old version of OOo and the suite doesn't include OOo's Base Application or Approach (Approach has been discontinued as have all the Smartsuite Apps).
The benefits of Lotus Symphony are it's integration with Notes and with Eclipse, otherwise it is better using OOo or LibreOffice.

Nice, I just grabbed the mac version and am using it now. Very nice so far, I love the formatting bar and the tabs.
