this way of playing this song, only piano/voice, is simply mind blowing. I'm so touched, this interpretation is so emotional, it gives the song a new taste...
Did you stop recording there ? Need to listen more !
Thanks for sharing :-)

@harding182 Take this with a grain of salt, because other than my own musing, I don't have any sources to quote. I'd say he was very popular long before this song was sampled. Hornsby is a consummate musician and always trying new things so he hasn't always been involved in "popular music." But I think sampling this song caused a resurgence of interest in Hornsby by younger listeners and those not necessarily tuned in to the type of experimentation and live jamming scene Hornsby thrives in.

@harding182 yeah he was. I remember hearing his music when I was a kid in the '80's. I remember hearing "Look Out Any Window" too... I seem to recall seeing a video for it back then too, although I can't find it on YouTube now.

I was looking for a video of good quality really showing Bruce Hornsby singing this song. It's hard to find one on YouTube. So, thank you for the upload ! :-)

Bruce has struck a chord in many of us! Lets further promote Bruce! And many who are singer song writers in their own right.

thats the BEST way to describe the piano... rolling.... perfect...i've picked it up by ear, and the theme of the rolling repetition is beautiful
does anyone know if this version is available for download anywhere?
Does anyone know if he was famous before 2pac used the tune?

(from Wikipedia) "Changes" was recorded during 2pac's tenure at Interscope records, and is one of his most notable and popular songs. Released initially posthumously on his album Greatest Hits in 1998. The song heavily samples the 1986 hit The Way It Is by Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
