Bean's Scritches

Beanie Boy is finally allowing me to give him scritches after 7 years of not liking it. I figured out how to trick him into it by sitting him in the sun and keeping the camera close. He likes to scritch himself on the camera and it was only a matter of time before I got the idea to substitute my finger when he wasn't looking. He's so dreamy!

Filmed with a point and shoot Canon PowerShot 750 Digital Elph on the macro setting.

Sorry to bother you, but I read that you got Bean a buddy? I was wondering if after you got him the buddy if he still allowed you to do this to him. THANKS :)

@tamaramacrae1990 It's not a bother. The answer is no. Bean became very possessive with his buddy. Changed him completely. After many months, I decided to do an experiment and sent his buddy back to my friend for the weekend and Bean's almost back to his sweet self. I may work out a bird sharing situation with my friend to have a little balance. Work in progress...

@boombella Awe, I had a budgie that I got in August of last summer and he passed away just before New Years :( I am debating on getting another bird but it really broke my heart to see him suffer (I will never buy from a pet store again). I just love parrotlets and hope to eventually get two from the same clutch and have them bond with me together at a young age. Bean is just so cute! Can you tell me a little bit about Parrotlets personalities compared to budgies?

@tamaramacrae1990 Hi there. I don't know anything about budgies so I would be useless in making a comparison. There is a great forum called talkparrotlets (google talkparrotlets) where your question might find a better answer. Some members keep a variety. I'm really sorry about hour loss. It's hard to lose a flock memeber. I can't see myself ever being without a bird! Bean has lived the longest of any plets I've owned - knock on wood...

I love Bean he is so cute! I've had my little Petey now for a few weeks. He's a blue pacific parrotlet and I love him very much! He's still a young boy and is at that stage where he's testing to see what he can and can't get away with. Parrotlet's rock! :)

You give me hope that one day I might be able to scratch Mr.P's head. We have had him now five years and and I watched him at the pet store for over a year before I brought him home. Mr. P is a parrotlet with a deformed foot, I thinks that's why he stayed so long at the pet store. I visited every weekend till I brought him home. He does not let this stop him though. He thinks he is a big as the other guys in the house. He loves to watch Bean's and PizzaPete's videos.
