Similar sounds were done by Peter Howell for the 1984 Dr Who story "Planet of Fire" on the BBC's Synthex. I heard this broadcast and remember the effect it had on me. I got the music in 1992 and still never knew what a Synthex was, until YT. Now I know! I tried to buy one off an ad but became suspicious of the seller and pulled out when he demanded Western Union payment without answering my questions or giving me film or samples. I got a different synth but would still like a Synthex one day.

This is a truly lovely sound but I can hear a buzzing when you start it up which perhaps shouldn't be there. I hope this isn't a bad sign.

I know that Jarre used the Elka on Rende Vouz, it is on of my favorite records of all.
