I know some companies do underhanded things in order to sell their product.. like Hollywood studios targeting certain groups with elements in movies that stereotype. can we believe half of what any commercial tells us? if they care about people why don't they target all the alcohol commercials too? they make drinkers look like 007. and drunk driving kills people. and what about pot? why is that okay? marley died of what? the whole thing just smacks of a monumental mind fuk. social engineering.

The simple fact is that the 'Truth' thing is nothing more than a way for anti-smoking advocates to try to punish the tobacco companies. The companies, via a lawsuit in 1998, are forced to pay for the ads, and 'Truth' spends their money convincing people of what they already know. If someone enjoys smoking, no number of nasty commercials are going to make them stop. The tobacco companies still make quite enough money to kinda shrug it off. Big victory, smoking opponents. Derp. Kiss my ass.

Non-smokers. We know we're horribly irresponsible people and it's our mistake to make. Passing by one of us on a crowded street isn't instantaneous cancer so stop bitching. Now, smokers. BE COURTEOUS. I don't think that the 2nd hand smoke people get on the street is enough to kill them, but it doesn't make it ok to discomfort them. Find a fairly isolated spot, maybe smoke at night, smoke outside. And for the love of god, don't drop everything for a smoke, it's fucking rude.
