Now ya see if that wing was made of this fancy new carbon composite stuff...well whose ta say just what would happen..fly safe..
-
@2129261184 OK, that mist spraying out the engine is called fuel. Preservation oil is lightly coated on the internals and even if the fuel pump is full of oil your not going to get that much out. Read the website quoted on the video.
-
@ForeverForTomorrow Fuel off you mean. Once the engine is lit the only thing that will turn it off is to cut the fuel supply.
-
@Sterlingjob continue the engine spinning with the ignitors off to blow out the excess fuel for 30 seconds if i remember correctly from my 737 class, and then try again.
-
@Sterlingjob Its preservation oil, not fuel.
-
@ForeverForTomorrow Thats incorrect. You dont wet crank without a dry crank and you certainly dont wet crank and reset the ignitor circuit breakers at the same time and even more you cut the fuel and continue to crank until flames are gone. They fucked up big time here
-
@2129261184 Incorrect its fuel not preservation oil.
-
@Horan28 Ok this is called a tail pipe fire. It was caused because they were doing a wet engine crank and then decided to ignite the fuel. BAD IDEA. Wet crank then dry crank and dry crank again if required. Its not a hot start, a hot start is when the EGT exceeds limits of the engine on start.
welcome passangers to shit your pants airlines please do not mind the flames comming from the back of the planes engines we do warn you the bathroom laboratory's located in the front and in the back of the plane will be busy after the hot start that is all and thank you for flying with us.

This is the de-icing procedure used by Polish airline companies.
